The brief

We want to start selling milk in paper cartons, but UK shoppers automatically look for bottles. We want to create a new flavoured milk range to help transition buyer behaviour – can you help us take the Yeo Valley brand into an exciting new category?

The opportunity

Yeo Valley is a much-loved brand that represents the heart of British Organic dairy. They came to our agency with an exciting plan in the pipeline: moving from plastic bottles to paper cartons.

Prior to the project, I had been asked to develop concept art for brown paper milk cartons, which had tested positively with buyers. It was great to be able to follow up the concept research with a new product.

I designed a layout which took the winning elements of Yeo Valley’s Masterbrand style guide and worked in the natural brown kraft where it would be noticed but not interfere with the strong colours that would be really important to each flavour. I flagged that some of the existing branded illustrations were letting the design down, and worked with Yeo Valley brand guardian agency, Big Fish to get some new flavour illustrations created to include in the final design.
